Responsibilities and Duties
- Clearing snow from retail storefronts, and sidewalks using shovels, scrapers and backpack blowers
- Salting sidewalks with walk behind salt spreaders
- Applying calcium chloride as de-icer on sidewalks
- Loading and unloading bags of salt weighing up to 50 lbs each
- Ability to work long hours and endure the duration of the snowfall
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather (rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, mixed precipitation, wind, etc.)
- Required to work on short notice, and be available to work any hours and days of the week, including holidays
- Keep an open line of communication with the Sidewalk Crew Manager
- Complete required paperwork for each site
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Highly dependable and reliable
- Attention to detail
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Be on call for emergency snow removal needs
