Our Bulk Soil field is located in the Cavanagh neighborhood.

WHEN VISITING, KEEP IN MIND THE FOLLOWING:

  • Minimum 3 yards required for pickup.
  • 10km/hr max speed when in the field. 
  • Please remain in your vehicle, as loader has the right of way.
  • Drivers are expected to ensure their tarps are on and there is no excess material on the wheels when exiting.
  • Please respect operator and neighbours.
  • Payment will need to be arranged prior to picking at the topsoil field unless you have an existing credit account established with Rockland. Please contact our office at 780-660-9391 to make arrangements.


Please Note: Cash or payments cannot be processed at the pit. 

About Our Field

As a home owner, or a contractor, if you need more than 12 cubic yards of topsoil or garden mix, getting it delivered straight from Rocklands own topsoil field is not only a great choice, but also a great cost-saving measure. 
 
Screened black dirt (topsoil) is used in final grading, levelling,  when installing sod as well as gardens and planting trees.


Our natural black dirt is stockpiled and then screened to produce a nice even consistent topsoil, free of lumps, rocks and other debris.  This screened topsoil is now ready to be delivered to our customers.


If soil is needed for top dressing or gardens, then Rockland also has a special blend for this.  The screened topsoil produced is then mixed with horticultural sand, compost, peatmoss and manure. This premium blend  is a must for achieving great results. 
 
Almost 100% of the topsoil used in developments in and around the City is sourced from local fields.    Although our topsoil has been screened, unfortunately we can not guarantee that it does not contain weed seeds.  There is no way to remove these and if the soil was heated to kill the seeds, this would also kill the valuable microorganisms that are needed in the soil. 
 
When ordering 12 cubic yards or more, the soil will be delivered in our large dump trucks.  Please allow for ample dumping room.
