Rockland's sanding services are available on a monthly contract or per-visit basis.

A monthly contract provides additional insurance and peace of mind over a one-time sanding. We will be monitoring conditions of all roadways and parking lots within the designated site, ensuring you are prepared for changing conditions.

Ice melter and anti-icing products do a great job on sidewalks, however roadways are more challenging. Vehicles compress the snow, causing persistent minor melting which turns to ice.

How sanding helps during Winter

Sanding is completed after each parking lot clearing and at the discretion of the project manager during heavy snow falls and unstable temperatures. Sanding may be done during heavy snowfalls to manage and minimize icy and slippery conditions prior to full lot clearings. A layer of coarse sand makes it more difficult for ice to form while providing car tires and shoes greater traction.

Sanding is also offered during fluctuating temperatures to ensure entrances and intersections remain usable and safe for the public.
